What is Adult Church School?

 

28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom,

that we may present everyone mature in Christ. [Col 1:28]

 
This verse is part of Hope of Glory's founding Scripture passage.

This is the reason  why Adult Church School exists at Hope of Glory.  

 

We are seeking to  accomplish this, 'presenting everyone mature in Christ'. 

Adult Church School at Hope of Glory is an intensive study program that is designed to help Christians to grow mature in the Spirit and Word to 'Christ-likeness'.

 

'Foundational Level' of Adult Church School involves intensive studies of the Bible [10 meetings of 2 hrs/course :  total 3 courses ], Bible reading, doctrinal teachings, memory verses, sharing life, small group fellowship, prayers, and serving church ministries. The participants would challenge each other, pray together, and be accoutable to each other as they point each other to the gospel. You would enjoy and appreciate the community of faith here.

 

It is our sincere desire and prayer that our church members may be benefited from this program to know, love, and worship our triune God and make more disciples of Christ.

The Goal of Adult Church School Classes

  1. Training into the conformity to the likeness of Christ (Rom. 8:29)

  2. Raising disciples of Christ who will carry the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20)

  3. Helping people to grow in the knowledge of God and in His Grace (2 Tim. 2:2)

 

 

The Purpose of Classes 

  1. Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. [John 17:7] 

  2.  Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. [1 Thessalonians 5:23]

  3.  Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. [Proverbs 27:17]  

  4. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, [Ephesians 1:13] 

  5. If you put these things before the brothers,1 you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. [1 Timothy 4:6]

  6. I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. [Romans 16:17]

2.  Theological Foundation Class 1 – Encountering the Christian Faith   [emphasis on Doctrin of God & Doctrine of Christ]

     Theological Foundation  Class 2 – Salvation & Grow in Grace [emphasis on Doctrine of Man & Soteriology] 

     Theological Foundation  Class 3 – Christian Life & Leadership  [emphasis on Doctrine of Church ]

 

3.  Biblical Studies

     Biblical Class – Study of the Book of Revelation

     Biblical Class – Study of Genesis 1-3

     Biblical Class – Study of OT overview

     etc.
